Welcome to CrossFit Laredo! Let me start by stating that we are Laredo’s FIRST licensed and certified affiliate of CrossFit, Inc.  Do not be fooled by those who think they can teach CrossFit methodology.  Go with the experts.  This is your body and health we are talking about, not a pair of socks!  With that being said we are bending all the rules in order to achieve your goals!

 

  I hope you have taken the time to navigate through our ‘what is CrossFit’ and ‘what is Fitness’ links.  If not please do so, it is well worth your time.  Our facility is equipped with everything you need to do CrossFit workouts – we are a CROSSFIT-ONLY facility.  We see no reason to use isolated muscle machines… Life doesn’t come at you one isolated muscle at a time. Your body is a complete organism, train it that way!

 

WE run, jump, climb, push, pull, lift, press, squat, carry, throw and catch.  We us body weight, medicine balls, free weights, plyo boxes, jump ropes, kettlebells and pull up bars.  We do this utilizing our entire body!  Every workout involves compound, multi-joint exercises.  From the explosive power lifts found in olympic weightlifting to the strength benefits found in powerlifting and the balance/coordination/agility of rudimentary gymnastics, CrossFit Laredo incorporates only the methods, principles and concepts of what works.

 

At CrossFit Laredo, there are no expensive machines, televisions, spas, saunas, mirrors or smoothie bars.  Our methods fostor teamwork, camaraderie, motivation, focus, family and a sense of belonging.  We create athletes that are fitter, healthier people overall.  We combine strength training and monostructural movement i.e “cardio” using a different workout every day that is both timely and effective.  Routine is our enemy. 


What Sets Us Apart!

     First of all Crossfit Laredo is for everyone!  From an elite olympic lifter to Firefighters to Law enforcement personnel to those seeking a higher level of general fitness to our grandmas!
-Crossfit, in short, is functional movements executed at relatively high intensity.  Because of that we do not change programs for any of our members.  The elder person looking for physical competence will do the same kind of movements the U.S Marshal is doing where his livelihood depends on fitness.  The needs vary in degree not kind.

 

1.  Personal Attention.  That is really what makes the world of difference.  It’s that one to one professional instruction that every member gets.  That is a standard luxury when you become a member at CrossFit Laredo.  There are several reasons for that.
A. Proper technique/form.  We will not let you go forward without you knowing what you’re doing.  If you do know the technical aspects of the exercises we do in crossfit (BCC), having a second pair of eyes watching you is an enormous advantage. Think safety! Think Quality!
B. Attaining a higher level of intensity.  In order to get thru most of the workouts at greatest level of return, having a trainer there pushing you and guiding is key! Think motivation!

2.  Training takes place in small groups.  Group training offers a high level of personal attention with the addition of positive peer influence.  Natural camaraderie, competition and fun of sport yield competition and intensity that is unparalled and cannot be experienced in one-on-one training, you are motivated to push harder in a group dynamic.  Although private and semi-private training is available upon request.  Our classes will be no bigger than a 3 trainers to 20 athlete ratio, so you always get that high level of attention and coaching at all times. 

 

Our trainers are professionals in every sense of the word.  You will not find trainers or coaches who wear polo-collared shirts with a cute logo on them.  You won’t be shown how to use many “circuit” machine; BECAUSE WE DON’T HAVE MACHINES.  Your body is all the machine you need.  What you will find is that our trainers our committed, professional, knowledgable individuals that show respect and integrity towards the member without any agenda other than being passionate in assisting you in reaching a higher level of fitness.
